The City of Albany has many different requirements for not only landlords looking for their ROP's, but also of home owners. What a lot of people don't know is that their is a difference between your historic overlay district and your historic renovations.
When you have a Historic building being painted in the City of Albany, you will need to find out if you are possibly just in a historic overlay district. If this is the case although there are restrictions, they are not as stringent should it be a full historic renovation. With a simple lead test and submittle to the city of your color choice you should be good to go upon approval
Now for histroic renovations, the City will not only require a lead test, but you will also have to have the color go through the city's historic board for full approvals. If this project is looking for certified historic tax credits, this final color and application will also have to be certified by a third party.
If any of this is still confusing, don't hesitate to give us a call to walk you through it!
